Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and occasionally operating production and building machinery and equipment. Responsible for ensuring detailed records of work and inventory are maintained.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform diversified maintenance-related tasks including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting on production and building equipment. Set up, install, and maintain production and facility machinery and equipment.
  • Assist production personnel in equipment setups, changeovers, material changes, and tooling changes. As needed, independently set up and operate production equipment.
  • Maintain organization of maintenance and workspaces, ensuring that parts and tools are stored in the proper places and that areas remain in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Execute emergency/unscheduled repairs of production machinery, supporting equipment, and facility equipment and machinery.
  • Read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics/drawings for use in effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Communicate daily with COO and other internal stakeholders regarding key maintenance operations such as repairs, faulty operations, and defective materials or parts.
  • Communicate with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to assist in troubleshooting and reduce machinery downtime.
  • Perform building related installation and maintenance, including but not limited to furniture assembly, data/power installations, plumbing and lighting repair.
  • Utilize computer maintenance management software (CMMS) to schedule and track daily activities, work orders, maintenance and repair functions, and parts inventory.
  • Using CMMS, maintain detailed records of daily activities, repairs, and modifications.
  • Using CMMS, report all time and materials for repairs and the upkeep of inventory.
  • Operate a forklift to assist in heavy lifting maintenance procedures and repairs.
  • As needed, clean equipment, docks, levelers, HVAC systems, or other relevant equipment and systems.
  • Drive company vehicle for job-related purposes such as picking up parts, relocating items, or traveling between facilities.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent (GED).
  • Relevant experience in a trade or manufacturing environment, including experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability prioritize, troubleshoot, and make informed and quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe and ethical work practices.
  • Sense of urgency to complete responsibilities with thoroughness, responsiveness, professionalism, and whenever possible, proactively.
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic PC skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software with proven ability to learn complex new software programs.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and willingness to learn with a positive attitude and approach to work responsibilities.
  • Professional proficiency in verbal and written English including ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Valid driver’s license is required at time of hire.
  • Willingness and ability to work in an environment that includes frequent exposure to humidity as well as warm and cold temperatures as the seasons vary.
  • Willingness and ability to work in an environment that may include exposure to high noise levels (proper hearing protection will be provided).
  • Willingness and ability to routinely engage in a high level of activity including frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Willingness and ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 75 lbs. Pushing and pulling of loads may also be required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Degree or certification from craft apprenticeship, technical college, or other relevant educational institution.
  • Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
  • Experience with electrical systems.
  • ERP system experience strongly preferred, ideally experience with EFI Radius.
  • CMMS experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Pay: $24.00 – $40.00 per hour

  • 401K Plan – Plan entry date is the first of the month following 6 months of service. Eagle provides its employees with a 100% match up to 1% and 50% match up to 6%.
  • Company Paid Short Term Disability– The Short-Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Company Paid Long Term Disability– The Long-Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Life Insurance– The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children.
  • Vacation/PTO – The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment.
  • 8 Company Paid Holidays– Eligible after 60 days of employment.
  • Sick Leave– Eligible for paid sick days at the rate of 3 days (24 hours) per year after 6 months of service (prorated for per the calendar year).
  • Tuition Reimbursement– Following 6 months of employment, employees are eligible for reimbursement for courses, certifications, and training programs that support their Eagle careers.

Part-time team members are provided with the following benefits:
