Production Supervisor – Second Shift (Batavia, IL)

Eagle Flexible Packaging is growing and seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to supervise production employees in a printing and converting environment on the second shift (including overnight). The Production Supervisor will plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Specific Duties:

  • Supervise and manage all 2nd shift production personnel.
  • Create baseline performance criteria and conduct evaluations and performance reviews.
  • Conduct disciplinary action as needed.
  • Implement an effective safety training program.
  • Lead and coordinate all new hire training, as well as continuing training for existing personnel.
  • Implement SOPs relevant to the departments.
  • Determine current base line departmental efficiencies and implement steps to monitor and improve, through-put and waste.
  • Take a leadership role when it comes to quality – assist quality checks throughout the shift and sign off on job approvals. The 2nd Shift Supervisor will assist the quality person for the duration of the shift and must be able to make decisions and be in charge of all quality issues.
  • Participate in the problem analysis determination and corrective action implementation of internal and external customer complaints.
  • Conduct regular meetings within the departments as an open forum for discussion.
  • Schedule personnel and equipment to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Be knowledgeable of Eagle’s preventive maintenance program for each department and notify maintenance in the event of any equipment problems or necessary repairs.
  • Ensure that GMPs are followed within the departments.
  • Control all areas of production costs in order to meet manufacturing cost / budget targets and continually challenge and reduce costs by all means of elimination of waste, reduced overtime, etc.


  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required, ideally in the flexible packaging and/or printing industry.
  • Basic computer skills required, Microsoft Excel and Word familiarity desired.
  • High mechanical aptitude desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to continuously stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Must be able to stoop and kneel frequently.
