The Production Support Supervisor contributes to the success of Eagle Flexible Packaging (“Eagle”) by directly supervising and coordinating production support operations within a flexible packaging manufacturing environment. This is an exempt supervisory role that requires the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in managing employees, directing work, prioritizing operational needs, and allocating resources to support production objectives. While the primary duty of the role is supervision, direction, and accountability of employees, not routine production labor, hands-on support is expected on an as needed basis.
Reporting to the Production Manager, this role oversees day-to-day execution of production support functions, including packing, utility support, warehouse/material handling, and shipping. The Production Support Supervisor is accountable for staffing decisions, employee performance management, procedural compliance, and adherence to safety, quality, and food safety requirements across assigned areas and shifts.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision of production support employees, including Packer/Catchers, Utility Workers, and Warehouse Staff, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring performance.
- Coordinate and oversee production support coverage across multiple shifts, including approving or recommending schedule adjustments to address production demands.
- Perform hands-on supervisory duties to support daily production needs as needed.
- Review production schedules and verify that all production materials are staged and available in accordance with schedule requirements, including:
- Raw materials staged appropriately for production.
- Work-in-process (WIP) materials staged according to job flow.
- Finished goods staged, prepared, and ready for outbound shipment.
- Review production schedules to ensure required support materials are prepared and staged, including:
- Cores cut and available.
- Boxes assembled and lined.
- Pallets staged and ready for use.
- Production waste handled, removed, and disposed of in accordance with established procedures.
- Plan, assign, and direct daily work schedules for production support employees, including break coverage, meal schedules, and vacation/PTO coordination.
- Hold production support employees accountable to established performance expectations, production goals, and operational metrics, including throughput, downtime, and scrap reduction.
- Provide input and recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination decisions.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and corrective action for direct reports in accordance with Eagle policy.
- Identify operational risks, inefficiencies, or gaps in material flow and staffing; recommend corrective actions and implement approved solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all SQF, food safety, quality assurance, GMP, and regulatory requirements within assigned areas.
- Support the Quality Department with coordination and scheduling of rework activities as directed.
- Participate in SQF-related meetings, audits, and training activities as required.
- Support and conduct training related to ERP system (EPS Radius) for production support employees, as assigned.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by modeling safe behaviors, enforcing safety rules, addressing unsafe conditions or behaviors promptly, and escalating concerns as required.
- Maintain housekeeping and organization standards in all assigned areas.
- Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school degree, equivalent (GED), or equivalent work experience.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise employees, make independent decisions, and exercise discretion regarding staffing, work assignments, and performance management.
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with strong time management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Capacity to set priorities, goals, and timelines to achieve maximum productivity by demonstrating a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment.
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountability for keeping production running.
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software with proven ability to learn complex new software programs.
- Professional proficiency in verbal and written English, including ability to effectively communicate and partner with a diverse individuals.
- Demonstrated safety mindset, including a commitment to enforcing safety rules, identifying hazards, and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.
- Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Willingness and ability to perform hands-on work in a production environment as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and production materials.

Preferred Qualification:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Operations, Business, or related field.
- Experience in flexible packaging, printing, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of SQF, GMP, HACCP, and applicable food safety or regulatory standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with proven ability to learn new software programs.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, ideally EPS Radius.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Additional Information: This position is primarily a first shift position with responsibilities for leading a team that works varied schedules. Therefore, flexibility to work hours outside of the standard schedule, including nights, weekends, and extended hours, is expected. The ability to provide on-call support as needed is also required. Some occasional travel may be required.
Pay: $70,000 to $85,000 per year

- Life Insurance– The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children.
- Vacation/PTO – The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment.
