Talent Acquisition and Engagement Specialist (Batavia, IL)

The Talent Acquisition and Engagement Specialist contributes to the success of Eagle Flexible Packaging by assisting with recruitment efforts to attract top talent as well as efforts to ensure that employees are personally and professionally supported and engaged throughout their tenure. The Specialist also provides critical support to other Human Resources efforts such as Talent Management, HRIS, and Learning/Training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Talent acquisition efforts with duties including but not limited to:
    • Source passive talent via job boards, social media, and professional networking.
    • Post job openings on job boards, ensuring that posts are accurate, engaging, and reaching a diverse audience.
    • Represent company at job fairs and other recruitment events.
    • Develop recruitment related social media marketing and company website content that showcases employment opportunities and positions company as an employer of choice.
    • Work with third party vendor to conduct background checks and drug tests, providing candidates with feedback regarding results and, when necessary, following through with adverse action procedures.
    • Schedule phone screens and interviews.
    • Conduct phone screens, providing feedback to hiring managers.
    • Lead new hire orientation and onboarding sessions.
  • Employee engagement efforts with duties including but not limited to:
    • Work with Office Administrator to plan employee engagement events and activities (e.g., employee meals, celebrations, awards and recognition, purchase of company branded apparel, etc.).
    • Assist in the development and execution of Eagle Cares community support activities.
    • Conduct exit interviews with separating employees, compiling feedback for future action.
    • Partner with Manager to support individual employees in the achievement of their personal and professional goals.
    • Plan and communicate health and wellness initiatives (e.g., annual flu shot clinic).
    • Create content for employee bulletin board.
    • Develop new ideas to creatively enhance employee engagement.
  • Support Talent Management responsibilities by scheduling quarterly check-ins and annual reviews for all employees and tracking completion.
  • ADP Workforce Now human resources information system (HRIS) responsibilities including but not limited to:
    • Accurately and promptly enter new hire information in the system.
    • Update employee information as needed (e.g., updates to emergency contacts, changes to marital status, etc.)
    • Run and distribute reports for people managers (e.g., vacation usage, break length exceptions, etc.)
    • Work with Manager on initiatives to more effectively level HRIS efficiencies.
  • Assist with development of enhanced training program, including safety initiatives.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum one year relevant experience, internship and/or relevant education experience can be considered.
  • Basic PC skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email software with proven ability to learn new software programs.
  • Understanding of human resources policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong sense of personal integrity with ability to maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Sense of urgency to complete responsibilities with thoroughness, responsiveness, professionalism, and whenever possible, proactively.
  • Effective time management skills with ability to work independently and maximize productivity.
  • Professional proficiency in verbal and written English, including ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a diverse group of internal and external customers.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience with human resources information system (HRIS) software.
  • Experience with applicant tracking system (ATS) software.

 Additional Information: Incumbent is required to gain an in-depth understanding of the organization, its mission, vision, and guiding values. Occasional travel may be required, primarily local and to the Waupun facility. The standard work schedule for this position is daytime hours Monday-Friday. There may be occasional needs to work hours outside of the standard schedules, and workweeks in excess of 40 hours are not unusual.
