Warehouse Manager (Batavia, IL)

Eagle Flexible Packaging is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager who will oversee all Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control department functions, including prioritization, operation, administration, supervision, and management of daily operations and longer-term projects. The Warehouse Manager will ensure that material is moved throughout the production process and that items are properly shipped and received. This is a “working manager” position with the manager being responsible for directing department activities at both of Eagle Flexible Packaging’s Batavia facilities while also participating in these activities as needed.

Specific Duties:

  • Manage the receipt of supplies, raw material, substrates, and zipper material:
    • Record receipts in the ERP system (EFI Radius).
    • Tag materials with appropriate barcoded labels.
    • Transfer materials to appropriate location in ERP system.
  • Manage cycle counting program in ERP system, including coordinating workforce and participating in physical counts.
  • Provide continuous improvement feedback on opportunities to streamline warehousing, storage, and inventory control.
  • Manage movement of raw material substrates and zipper material inside of facility and staging to and from press.
  • Manage FIFO-based inventory.
  • Manage storage and movement of Work-In-Process (WIP) inventory between Press / Hot Room / Storage / Converting.
  • Manage storage, movement, and staging of WIP inventory for all production processes.
  • Ensure that warehouse team follows paperwork and procedures for double-checking final counts of finished product (e.g., impressions, pouches, etc.).
  • Coordinate material movements between production facilities.
  • Delegate responsibilities to warehouse staff members.
  • Conduct training for warehouse personnel, collaborating with Human Resources to ensure all staff members are receiving the training necessary to successfully execute their responsibilities.
  • Foster empowerment throughout the warehouse team, putting personnel in positions to perform their tasks with minimized levels of supervision.
  • Become certified forklift operator trainer and regularly conduct training sessions for safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • Manage warehouse sanitation aspects of Eagle’s Safe Quality Food Program and ensure checklists are completed, which may require additional time commitments in order to manage both day-to-day production responsibilities and food safety responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with production management and production scheduling to ensure effective execution of production schedule.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Minimum 3 years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
  • High school degree or equivalent (GED).
  • Proven leadership skills, including ability to effectively coach teams.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to maximize individual and team productivity.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with proven ability to learn complex new software programs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder and stairs.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Willingness to learn to safely operate material handling equipment that includes, but may not be limited to, forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license is required at time of hire.
  • Willingness and ability to become forklift certified at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software.
  • Experience using Radio Frequency (RF) scanners.
  • Experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
  • CDL or class C commercial license.
  • Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
